If household power fails, the light stays on with built-in battery. In this mode, the battery is charging. It can even be removed from the socket and used for a flashlight.

Switch to DC to use as a flashlight or emergency when household power fails. The DC mode runs the battery, the light can even be removed from the socket in this mode. When power is restored, the light charges automatically.

Switch to off mode to turn the light off. The battery will not charge in this mode.

Can be used as a desk lamp or any other use. Switch can easily be reached in most sockets.

Built-in rechargeable lead-acid battery. This is the same type of battery found in your car except it is sealed to prevent acid leakage. Lead acid batteries are used because they are specifically designed for constant discharge and charge. Never run a lead-acid battery dead, this may damage the battery.
